1. Prevention and control of flies in the collection and transportation of kitchen waste

The accumulated kitchen waste contains rich nutrients and sufficient water, providing good environmental conditions for the growth of flies. Therefore, fly control should be carried out at the source. Garbage bins in restaurants should be sealed with lids, and garbage should be cleared daily to prevent flies from laying eggs; Kitchen waste trucks should be cleaned in a timely manner and regularly disinfected.

2. Prevention and control of flies during the treatment of kitchen waste

From the factors affecting fly growth, temperature and water have a significant impact on flies. Therefore, in the process of food waste treatment, cooking food waste at a temperature of 45-50 ℃ is beneficial for softening food waste, causing fly egg death, and not causing protein denaturation in food waste. At the same time, controlling the moisture content of food waste below 40% can effectively control the growth of flies.

3. Environmental prevention and control

Ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of food and kitchen waste processing enterprises, and regularly disinfect them; Properly handle and remove residual garbage; Regularly inspect the equipment and feeding system to ensure no water leakage or spillage; Install screen mesh on factory windows to prevent foreign flies from flying in; Do a good job in vegetation restoration and plant some fly killing plants, such as bamboo, to effectively reduce the activity of flies and suppress their survival.

4. The Best Time to Kill Flies

Whether a fly can complete its life cycle largely depends on climate conditions. When the temperature is below 15℃ or above 45℃ and the humidity is below 60% or above 80%, it can effectively inhibit the growth of flies. In the entire fly population, 80% are in the developmental stage, and only 20% are adult flies. Therefore, by killing flies in April, they can be controlled during the larval stage.
